Soft Care Med - Hand Disinfectant

Hand disinfectant for personal use against norovirus, Influenza A (H1N1), rotavirus, hepatitis B, HIV, MRSA and other common infections.

Soft Care Med H5 is the only alcohol based hand rub to utilise a blend of propan-1-ol, propan-2-ol.

These propanols are combined with glycerine and cellulose thickener to give the optimum product for antimicrobial activity, skin care, standards compliance and safety in use.

It is used for infection control and is effective against norovirus, Influenza A (H1N1), rotavirus, hepatitis B, HIV, MRSA and other common pathogens.

Most alcohol hand rubs have ethanol or propanol as their main active ingredient, both of which are effective but there are significant advantages in choosing Soft Care Med H5 with its mixture of propanols.

Ethanol based products have a flashpoint of 19oC or less and are classified as highly flammable whereas the larger molecular size of propanol means that Soft Care Med H5 has a flashpoint of 24oC (above room temperature) and is consequently only classified as flammable. This is a major advantage for the storage and handling of products.

There is also the small, but constant, risk of patients and visitors ingesting an alcohol based product. Propanol reduces this risk because it is unpalatable.

The thickening system used in Soft Care Med H5 ensures the gel does not instantly liquefy and run off the hands. This not only makes Soft Care Med easier to apply correctly, leading to optimum efficacy, but can decrease the risk of slips and floor staining.

Soft Care Med H5 is available in a the following formats:

  • Soft Care Line
  • Soft Care Pump Top
  • Soft Care Personal Bottle
