Chief Human Resources Officer
Bill Meeker is the Chief Human Resources Officer based out of Charlotte, NC. He is a member of the HR Leadership Team and has been with Diversey since 2015.
Bill has over 25 years of experience working as a Human Resources leader with a strong track record of success in senior HR roles with increasing responsibility in complex, global environments. Bill worked from 2010 to 2015 as a SVP Human Resources for Bank of America. He led enterprise leadership development programs, had responsibility for strategic leadership for management development and supported C-Suite development offerings for CEO, Brian Moynihan.
Prior to Bank of America, Bill spent 11 years with General Electric Corporation, regularly ranked #1 on Fortune Magazine’s list of World’s Most Admired Companies. He worked with senior leaders to hire, develop and inspire as Human Resources Leader within GE Energy Engineering, GE Nuclear and GE Capital. As Chief Learning Officer for General Electric’s $40B Energy division, he helped transform the function and led a team of 23 professionals in functional, leadership and executive education. His global experience has offered him opportunities to lead teams in 30 non-U.S. locations in Europe, Asia and Latin America. Prior to GE, he was an HR Generalist for Cintas Corporation and Dunmore Corporation.
Bill has been an active champion of diversity and inclusion, receiving recognition for his leadership efforts particularly as a National Society for Black Engineering (NSBE) Conference speaker and recruiter, a Society for Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) recruiter for five years, a GE Women’s Network speaker, a GE Asian Pacific American Forum speaker and Men Advocating Real Change (MARC) speaker at Sealed Air. He has also been an active Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM) Board Member and Member for SHRM chapters in Connecticut and North Carolina.
Currently, Bill is an active board member of the non-profit organization Classroom Central which provides educational support to 100,000 students and their teachers across six school districts in 192 high-poverty Charlotte areas. Bill holds a Bachelor’s in Business Administration (BBA) from Western Connecticut State University and a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from University of North Carolina, Wilmington.
