In the newly created role of Chief Procurement Officer, Michael has responsibility for Diversey’s Global Procurement team, managing a diverse set of suppliers who provide high quality and cost effective products and services to our operations around the world.
Michael brings over three decades of Procurement experience as both a practitioner and a management consultant. Prior to Diversey, he was Chief Procurement Officer for Staples, where he led a multi-year transformation of the function to a best-in-class, center-led organization and implemented a leading source-to-pay system. Michael has also held similar CPO positions at Best Buy, Accenture and Eastman-Kodak, the latter during Chapter 11 reorganization. His passion in each of those roles has been to assemble high performing teams that collaborate with business partners and suppliers to achieve break-through results.
In addition to his industry experience, Michael has been a Partner in several leading management consulting firms, including A.T. Kearney, Accenture and AlixPartners, and has worked with dozens of companies across most industry sectors to transform their Procurement organizations and drive increased value from their supply base. Michael is known for his innovative ideas in the Procurement space and is in high demand as a conference speaker. Until recently, he served on the Executive Advisory Board for Coupa, a market leading procurement software company.
Michael holds an MBA from The University of Chicago and a Bachelors of Science in Chemical Engineering from Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology.
